99% of people are wrong… How many holes are there really in this shirt? 👕🤔

Visual puzzles are a great way to test your observation skills. At first glance, this image seems very simple: a red T-shirt with a few visible holes. However, most people get the answer wrong because they’re only looking at the front of the garment.

Before you read any further, take a few seconds… How many holes did you count?

Why is this puzzle so confusing?

Our brains usually only count the most obvious holes. But you have to think about the whole shirt:

  • Opening the collar.
  • Both rounds.
  • Hole at the bottom of the shirt.
  • Large holes visible in the fabric.

Upon closer inspection, you can see six holes in the material. Because they go straight through the shirt, they’re visible through the cardboard behind it.

Solution👇

The calculations are as follows:

  • 1 hole for collar.
  • 2 sleeve holes.
  • 1 hole at the bottom of the shirt.
  • 6 torn holes in the material.

Total: 10 holes.

This is the answer you might expect in this puzzle.

Why do so many people answer 6?

Most participants only count visible tears in the fabric, forgetting that normal holes in a T-shirt are also… holes!

These challenges demonstrate how our brains automatically filter out certain information that would otherwise be obvious.
